Feb. 7 at the Palace Theatre, the First Meeting of Our New Playwriting Group

Palace Theatre, 1931 (London Free Press)

London Writers Society and London Community Players are starting a brand new playwriting group in February. The new group is open to both new and experienced playwrights who want support, feedback and exposure. The group is not a teacher-led class. It’s a self-running, mutual support group, where writers share ideas and works in progress.

Its purpose is to help the group’s members to develop as playwrights and to put on workshops, readings and performances of their work. The group will meet at the Palace Theatre at 7 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month. Here’s the initial schedule: Feb. 7 and 21, March 7 and 21, April 4 and 18, May 2, 16, and 30, June 13 and 27.

Whether your plays have been performed many times or you’re just starting out, you’re invited to come to the first meeting and help set the direction of this new group. If you’re interested, email our critique group coordinator, Buddy Young, or just show up at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, at the Palace Theatre, 710 Dundas St., London, ON N5W 2Z4, 519-432-1029. (Get map and directions.) Free parking on the street. Paid parking in back. Enter at the front box-office door.
